Bombardier has started manufacturing major structural components for the first production Global 8000 business jet, a 19-passenger ultra-long-range model expected to enter service in the second half of 2025. When it does, the aircraft will be business aviation’s fastest (Mach 0.94) and longest-range (8,000 nautical miles; 14,816 kilometers) model and the fastest civil aircraft since the Concorde, says Bombardier.

The Global 8000 Story So Far

Unveiled in May 2022, the Global 8000 will replace the Global 7500 as Bombardier’s flagship. Global 7500 owners can retrofit their aircraft to Global 8000 performance capabilities after the latter enters service. Bombardier says it has conducted initial certification agency flight tests for the Global 8000, and flight testing is on track.

From Canada To Mexico

Bombardier is producing Global 8000 structural components at its facilities in Quebec, Canada; Red Oak, Texas; and Queretaro, Mexico. Jean-Christophe Gallagher, executive vice president of Bombardier aircraft sales and defense, says Global 8000 customers can look forward to more than industry-leading performance.

“Connectivity, comfort, and arriving refreshed are just as important today as speed and range, which is why we are proud that the Global 8000 will boast the best-in-class cabin altitude and offer Bombardier’s signature smooth ride,” he says.

A Comfortable, Healthy Ride

A typical Global 8000 cabin configuration provides four personalized suites, including a conference area, an entertainment suite, a Principal Suite with a full-size bed, and an En Suite with a stand-up shower. Pũr Air and advanced HEPA filter technology contribute to the jet’s comfortable and healthy cabin experience.

The jet will also employ a Soleil circadian-based lighting system and Bombardier’s Nuage seat with a zero-gravity position to help passengers arrive refreshed. During flights, they can access the Bombardier nice Touch CMS (cabin management system), which has an OLED touch dial to adjust cabin settings easily.

Impressive City Pair Connections

Bombardier says the jet’s range and speed will enable more city pair connections than ever, including Dubai to Houston, Singapore to Los Angeles, and London to Perth. Dual GE Passport engines will power the plane, which employs a Smooth Flĕx Wing design. Pilots will enjoy the jet’s excellent short-field performance in all weather conditions.
