Business jet manufacturer Embraer and training partner FlightSafety International have opened a new Federal Aviation Administration-qualified full-flight simulator in Orlando, Florida, for Embraer’s Praetor business jets. Initial training begins this month, and recurrent training will start in October. The companies also plan to launch a fourth Praetor simulator in Europe by the end of 2024 at a location yet to be named. FlightSafety provides simulation and visual products, training resources, and other products for the aviation industry.

“Offering additional training capacity is important for supporting our customers,” says Embraer Services and Support President and CEO Carlos Naufel. “These two new full-flight simulators bring us even closer to Praetor family pilots and operators in the United States and Europe and will provide us with the opportunity to share our latest technological updates and best-in-class support.”

Welcome Aboard

Embraer introduced the Praetor 500 and Praetor 600 in 2018 as the world’s most disruptive and technologically advanced business jets in the midsize and super-midsize segments, respectively. The Praetor 500 seats up to nine passengers and is the farthest- and fastest-flying jet in its class, says Embraer. The plane has a 3,340-nautical-mile (6,186-kilometer) range with four passengers and National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) instrument flight rules (IFR) reserves. The Praetor 600 seats up to 12 passengers and has a class-leading range of 4,108 nm (7,608 km) to lead its class, says Embraer.

Along with a best-in-class 5,800-foot (1,768-meter) cabin altitude, both models have numerous features to help passengers travel safely and comfortably in their 6-ft (1.8-m)-tall, flat-floor cabins. Each uses HEPA filters to remove 99.97% of bacteria from the air and provides a “whisper-quiet” environment, a private aft lavatory with full vanity, and Viasat Ka-band connectivity. Passengers can also control cabin management features using the Honeywell Ovation Select system on their personal devices.
