Business jet manufacturer Dassault Aviation recently introduced a new patented Falcon Privacy Suite concept designed to give passengers more personal space, peace and quiet, and restful sleep on long flights. Dassault displayed a full-scale mockup at the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE) held in late May in Geneva. The privacy suite will be available initially with Dassault’s Falcon 6X twinjet and Falcon 8X tri-jet. The suite’s individual compartment features a seat that electrically reclines into a flat bed.

Recline & Relax

Dassault’s industrial engineers and in-house Falcon Design Studio collaborated for two years on the concept. Depending on the model and configuration, customers can equip more than one privacy suite. Various fabric and material choices are also available. The reclining seat in the Falcon 8X is 22 inches (55.9 centimetres) wide, and the one in the 6X is 24 in. (61 cm) wide. Both recline to a bed that’s 80 in. (203 cm) long.

The seat meets safety requirements and serves as an ottoman when not fully reclined. Above it is a 24-in. 4K display connected to an Innovative Cabin System providing various entertainment options. Ambient and reading light and various storage areas, including a hanging garment area and side ledges with USB charging ports, are also on tap.

The Falcon 6X & 8X

Both jets seat up to 16 passengers, have a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.90, and a maximum operating altitude of 51,000 feet (15,545 kilometers). The 8X has a flight range of 6,450 nautical miles (11,945 km). Its cabin is Dassault’s longest at 42.8 ft (13 m), and Dassault claims it’s also the quietest at 49 dB. The cabin has 74 in. (188 cm) of headroom and a volume of 41,695 cubic feet (8 cubic meters) excluding the cockpit and baggage.

The cabin in the Falcon 6X is business aviation’s tallest (78 in.; 198 cm) and widest (102 in.; 258 cm), Dassault says. The jet, which Dassault says introduced a new “ultra-widebody” category, has 30 extra-large windows and a skylight in the cabin, which has a volume of 1,843 cu ft (52.2 cu m). The jet’s flight range is 5,500 nm (10,186 km).
