Gulfstream Aerospace says its customer support division had a great 2021 that included facility and service expansions, increased investments in customer service, and ongoing sustainability successes. The business jet manufacturer has had an increased focus on customer support lately; the company has been hard at work implementing an expansion plan that involves numerous Gulfstream customer service locations around the globe.

Gulfstream Customer Support President Derek Zimmerman says Gulfstream is establishing the industry’s most modern facilities to accommodate his company’s growing fleet of next-generation aircraft. That aircraft includes the all-new large-cabin Gulfstream G400 and ultra-long-range Gulfstream G800, both announced in October 2021, and the 19-passenger flagship Gulfstream G700, which is expected to be available for delivery later this year.

Celebrating Anniversaries

In 2021, work progressed on Gulfstream’s roughly 160,000-square-foot (14,864-square-meter) new customer support service center in Fort Worth. Expected to open this year, the facility will create 50 new jobs and provide hangar, back shop, and office space. Additionally, employees from Gulfstream’s Dallas Love Field location will transfer to the Fort Worth facility.

In July and August 2021, Gulfstream marked the respective one-year anniversary of its Farnborough service center in England and its 125,000-sq-ft (11,613-sq-m) facility in Palm Beach. The Farnborough facility has earned 30 foreign regulatory approvals in support of customers across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region. Gulfstream has also partnered with Farnborough Airport on various sustainability initiatives, including making on-site sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) available to customers. The Palm Beach facility now has more than 120 employees, and has earned 16 regulatory approvals.

Coming Soon To Mesa

In November 2021, Gulfstream announced plans for an all-new sustainable service center in Mesa, Arizona, that will include 225,000 sq ft (20,903 sq m) of hangar, back shop, and office space. Set to open in 2023 with more than 200 employees, the facility is expected to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification. The facility will include a fuel farm with dedicated SAF availability.
