Brazil-based executive jet manufacturer Embraer has announced details concerning a health-monitoring app it has developed for its employees to use whether they are working onsite, working remotely, or are on vacation. The app provides voluntary, daily reporting that will help identify symptoms that may point to a COVID-19 infection. Brazil and Latin America in general have been particularly hard hit by the coronavirus pandemic, with Brazil recording the second highest COVID-19 death toll worldwide after the United States, according to various reports. Embraer manufactures Phenom, Legacy, Praetor, and Lineage aircraft.

Real-Time Monitoring

In a statement, Embraer says the screening survey within the iOS- and Android-compatible app uses the model used by the Government of the State of São Paulo to provide real-time monitoring. Embraer health and safety professionals will use information from the app to help guide employees with various safety measures if necessary. Embraer says the “tool strengthens prevention actions at all Embraer units in Brazil by recording information used for continuous monitoring and for combating COVID-19 in the regions where the company is present.”

Embraer has previously implemented numerous health and safety protocols for those accessing company facilities. Those include mandatory face mask use, daily temperature screenings, practicing social distancing, and conducting ongoing hygienic measures. Embraer has also implemented such voluntary initiatives as partnering with hospital and health-related organizations.
