Gulfstream Aerospace has delivered its first Gulfstream G600 business jet ever for use in Part 135 or charter operations. Solairus Aviation, a San Francisco-based private aviation services company, received the 19-passenger G600, which received both its type and production certifications from the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) on the same day in July. In August, Gulfstream delivered its first G600, a long-range model Gulfstream introduced simultaneously with the Gulfstream G500 in 2014.
Fast & Comfortable
Solairus manages 50-plus Gulfstream aircraft, which represents about a third of its overall fleet. About half of the Gulfstream models are used in charter operations. Solairus will base the G600 at the San Francisco International Airport and will handle the jet’s management. Solairus has been a Gulfstream customer since 2009.
Dan Drohan, Solairus CEO, says his company is thrilled to receive the world’s first G600 for charter flights. “This aircraft immediately caught our attention when it was announced in October 2014, and it has lived up to its billing,” Drohan says. “Our pilots who have flown it are already very fond of its revolutionary flight deck, and our discerning customers will discover that the cabin is so comfortable and functional, they will forget it’s one of the fastest business jets on the market.”
Climb Inside
At 45.2 feet (13.77 meters), the G600 is billed as the longest business jet in its class. The G600 provides a 6,500-nautical mile (12,038-kilometer) range with eight passengers flying at Mach 0.85, but it can travel 5,500 nautical miles (10,186 kilometers) at Mach 0.90 and can reach a top overall speed of Mach 0.925. Also noteworthy is that the G600’s cabin can be configured for up to four living areas and with an option for a fixed bed.
Controller.com has a wide selection of new and used Gulfstream business jets for sale, including Gulfstream G550, G650, and G650ER models, among others.
