Bombardier announced on Monday that its Global 7500 business jet successfully flew nonstop from Sydney to Detroit on October 6, 2019 with low tailwinds averaging approximately 20 knots. The distance of 8,225 nautical miles bested the aircraft’s previous record of 7,990 nautical miles from Singapore to Tucson, Arizona, for the longest city pair in business aviation history.
“Since entry into service, the Global 7500 aircraft continues to go above and beyond expectations, flying farther and farther, setting new benchmarks for exceptional performance and comfort,” says Peter Likoray, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Marketing, Bombardier Business Aircraft. “It’s an incomparable advantage for our customers to know that they can travel great distances in style and ultimate comfort thanks to Bombardier’s signature smooth ride.”
About The Global 7500
The Global 7500’s large cabin features a full-size, multifunctional kitchen, a stateroom with a permanent bed, Bombardier’s patented Nuage seats with deep recline position, and the Soleil lighting system, the industry’s first circadian rhythm-based cabin lighting technology with Dynamic Daylight Simulation, which can help combat jet lag, according to the company.
Beyond the cabin, the aircraft features a sophisticated slats and flap system, which Bombardier says is the most advanced wing in business aviation and provides the aircraft with unprecedented amounts of lift on takeoff and approach. The company says that the system not only increases aerodynamic efficiency, but also improves safety and provides a smoother ride.
